I have been taking computing classes as a retirement project. During my professional life (I was a head teacher) I had to make lots of use of computers and always wanted to know more about how they work. I was originally a maths teacher and used to teach very simple BBC Basic back in the 1980s, but this knowledge is very out of date and a dim and distant memory.

I've heard that Python is the equivalent of BBC Basic for today, and so I'm keen to learn more.

I also remain involved in the world of education by working as a part-time specialist teacher supporting students with behavioural special needs, some of whom are doing GCSE computing which involves Python programming. I'm interested to learn more in order to better support their learning.
